Aquatics Center for the Tokyo Olympics & Paralympics 2020 was featured in the January 24th issue of Nikkei Architecture

The Aquatics Center was featured in a special article, “Projects Forecast 2019”, of the January 24th issue of Nikkei Architecture.
The Aquatics Center is the 2020 Tokyo Olympics venue for the swimming events. The Center has a lattice work exterior and is covered by a large roof. Construction is now underway at Tatsumi Seaside Park, which is located near the Odaiba area. The “lift-up” operation of the large roof was completed in July 2018, with the procedure being covered by TV crews and newspaper reporters on the scene. We are honored to have this rare opportunity to participate once again in the design of Olympic swimming facilities, subsequent to the Yoyogi National Gymnasium, which was designed by Kenzo Tange for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.
